img 004Balvi is a small, beautiful town on the shores of two lakes that has been carrying its name for only 87 years. The special mood in the city is created by Balvi Lake and Pērkoni Lake that are connected by the River Bolupe, as well as by the bright manor house and the park on the shore of the lake. The renovated Balvi District Museum and “Bear’s Garden” (Lāča dārzs), square and fountain “Water Lilly” (Ūdensroze) give Balvi its special charm.

Balvi city is located 226 km from Riga, it covers a territory of 5.1 km2 and its population is 6807 residents.
